The Google Wave Highlight Reel

We are very excited to be working with the Center for Accessible Technology (CforAT) who is helping One Economy make the Beehive 4.0 more accessible for all users.

CforAT will be consulting One Economy on ways we can refine the Beehive's look and feel so that it's keyboard navigable, uses colors that are visible for to those who are color blind, and generally helping ensure we're compatible with modern assistive technologies like screen readers.

We use a mix of technolgies at One Economy, including both Microsoft and open source.  And now we're giving back.

In addition to patches submitted to the Drupal project, we recently open sourced an entire Drupal module which supports video upload directly to YouTube.  We're using this on 24/7 Townhall and hope it will continue to improve.

I am in San Francisco at the Google developer’s conference this week where the overall theme is the “social web”. I should note, first and foremost, that I am experiencing a serious case of information overload! Please pardon me if this blog post is incoherent.

I want to personally acknowledge and thank Atlassian for their support of One Economy. Atlassian is the company behind JIRA, an outstanding issue tracking tool. Thanks to their community-licensing program, One Economy was able to deploy JIRA Enterprise. Moving forward, JIRA will be One Economy's tool of choice for managing issues.

I wear many hats in my role as Director of Technology at One Economy. One of those hats is as lead technology strategist. It’s my job to make well formed technology recommendations, including both software and hardware for internal and external use. I also own One Economy's overall technical direction.
