Daniel Calarco is the International Program Manager of One Global Economy (OGE), the international division of One Economy.  Daniel joined One Economy in 2006 and oversaw the development of OGE’s pilot projects in Jordan and South Africa, both of which launched in 2007. Since then, Daniel has led One Economy’s Asset Mapping and Baseline Data Collection project with Shell Canada and has also spearheaded efforts for new projects in Latin America and the Middle East.  Currently, Daniel’s portfolio includes oversight of OGE’s original two pilot projects in Jordan and South Africa as well as projects in Canada, Mexico, Israel, and Turkey.

Daniel joined One Economy from Georgetown University where he earned his Masters in Arab Studies in September 2006 with a concentration in business and economics. At Georgetown he also was awarded the Landeggar Honors Certificate in International Business and Diplomacy in May, 2006. Daniel is also certified as proficient in Arabic by Georgetown’s Center for Contemporary Arab Studies. Daniel’s interest in the Middle East stems from study abroad at the American University in Cairo in 2002 and is reflected in his Bachelors degree in International Relations from Brown University. Daniel brings experience from working with the US State Department in Cairo where he created several publications for the US Embassy Public Affairs Department and authored a study on the Egyptian media’s use of the Internet.
